Flower shop: Web-site

My role: UX designer designing an site for Flowers from conception to delivery.
Responsibilities: Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
The product:
We create the Flowers web-site to enable our clients to order flowers online and thus save their time. We have noticed that our competitors do not offer site for ordering flowers, which would be a very successful idea and would help many people with the choice and ordering of the required bouquet.
User research: summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I was designing for and their needs. The main user group identified by research worked as adults who did not have time to buy a bouquet after the end of the working day. The user group confirmed the assumptions, but there were additional factors that should also be taken into account when developing the website.

Completed in Adobe XD
The problem: People don’t have an hour to go shopping to buy a bouquet.

The goal: Development of an application for Flowers, which allows users to order and select bouquets easily.
User research: pain points
  • Adults do not have the opportunity to get rid of work to buy a bouquet.
  • Many applications do not include a change in the number of flowers in the bouquets.
  • People want to see the status of an order.
Persona: Emily
Problem statement: Emili works in the office therefore has no possibility to buy flowers after work so requires an application where can choose a bouquet.

Mapping Emily user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to have access to a dedicated Flowers app.

      Low-fidelity prototype
Using a complete set of digital frame systems, I built a low-precision prototype. The main user stream I have connected was to select a bouquet and add to the basket with the possibility to track the status of the order.

      Usability study: findings
I conducted two rounds of usability studies. Findings from the first study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups. The second study used a high-fidelity prototype and revealed what aspects of the mockups needed refining.
